Did they change anything? I can get a 2001 for 5800$. Is it worth spending the extra money to get the 2002?

My understanding is they Scram 500 2x4 for 2002 is the same as the 2001 model. but where I live, I can buy a 2001 Scram 500 for $4800.

Don't think they changed anything, if they did it would have been very minor, they made big changes from 2000 -2001. I would go with the 2001 and save some cash.

The only difference between these bikes is that the 2002 H.O. has a key start like your car, just turn the key. The 2001 H.O. you turn the key on then hit a separate start button.

I beleive they put a different starter switch and different tires on the 02 H.O. models.

I keep on reading that you need a pipe and clutch kit to get the front wheels of the ground. I just picked up a 2002 Scrambler 500 4x4 last week and it will wheelie stock (I weigh 230lb). I do not know if it has anything different than a 2001, but it does feel faster. As far as the price goes, I paid $5279.00 out the door. That’s $5250 for the quad plus documentation. I bough in Indiana and did not have to pay sales tax. I got quotes of $4600 for 2001. Cozzy’s in MARINETTE has one for $5300 but they will hit you 5.5% tax. Point being, if you are willing to drive a couple of hours you can save money and get a 2002 for the price of 2001.
