scrambler 500 vs 500x vs 400ex
#1
Recently sold my trailblazer and am looking to move up to a scrambler or 400ex. My question is, I know how the trailblazer handled, kind of sluggish and heavy feeling. I would expect the scrambler to feel sort of the same, just more powerful. Does the X model have any better handling characteristics than the regular scrambler? The dealer said the shocks were a little different. I know it is a little lighter, though not much. The 400ex will most likely handle better, has less ground clearance, no reverse. I don't know which will have more power the X or 400ex. I ride 95% trails, mountains, woods and 5% dunes. We also have a small track with some double jumps. I could clear most of these on my trailblazer, some were too far across. Will the scramblers be too heavy to jump well? Any words of wisdom?
thanks.
thanks.

As far as I know there is no difference between the engines in the two Scrams. The 500X is a 2 wheel drive only model though. If 4x4 is important to you go for the Scrambler 500 4x4, if 4x4 isnt then I would surely go for the EX. The 500X isnt in the same class as the EX and really wasnt meant to be. I have had only great results with my Scram 4x4 and would not hesitate to buy another one but the 4x4 is very important to me for where I live.

thanks for your reply.
4x4 is not a neccessity for me. My trailblazer got me up most any of the dirt hills I wanted up. Sand was another story. I would imagine that either the scrambler or the 400ex would get me up any of these as well. Is the 400ex so light in the front end that I might have trouble keeping the front end down on a long steep hill? I know this is not a problem on the polaris models. My brother in law has a raptor and I will be trying to keep up with him. He doesn't try to lose me and on the tight twisty steep hills I could usually keep up until a straight. He has a hard time with the front end coming up when he gets in a hurry on a steep hill. The 400ex will take more time to get used to shifting and clutching, but much better handling. The scrambler x will just give me all the power I was missing with the TB. I am having a hard time deciding between these 2.
I guess would like a scrambler that handled like a 400ex, or a 400ex that has reverse.
