1993 350L pipe and other mods
#1
I recently bought an old 350L 4x4 and was looking for advice on some possible performance upgrades. I am strongly considering either the HotSeat xplorer pipe or maybe an AAEN torquer pipe. I am also considering a new reed cage such as the Delta-Force 2. I use my 350L primarily for pulling an ATV trailer when I go hunting, and snow plowing in the winter. I realize that I will probably need a new clutch kit to fully utilize the upgrades. If anyone out there has some experience or just good advice regarding these intended upgrades or other possible ones please let me hear from you. Also if someone could recomend a clutch setup for heavy duty type work, i.e. which helix, springs, weights etc. please let me hear from you! One last possible consideration, most of my riding and hunting areas are at 6000 - 9000 feet in elevation.
Thank You

Give RCR a call. He can set you up with a pipe made specifically for your engine, as opposed to useing a 400 xplorer pipe. He can also set you up with the other goodies you need/want. I am not positive, but I think RCR is the only place to get a pipe made specifically for the 350.

I have a 93 350L as well. I rebuilt it last year. I wanted low end grunt for rock crawling and such. I had it bored .30 over and the head milled. I also used the V-force reed cage, reeds and a reed spacer to help the low end. It runs very good down low now. I can go up things in high that I could not even think of before. In fact I don't have to use low for anything anymore unless I just want to go slow. I never messed with the clutch set up because I wanted it to engage at a low rpm and pull not kick in all of the sudden at high rpm's. I can beat my HO with no problem in a short drag race but there is not much top end. I had a pipe on my Scrambler 400 4x4 and did not like it. It had a lot of power up high but no low end what so ever. Their cure for low end power was to let the engine rev way up before it engaged the clutch. This is not what you are after if you are crawling up steep rocks or pulling a trailor.
