Any cooling issues with the high comp piston? Can you get away with pump gas of do you need race gas?

Thanks for the numbers.

Shaggy,

Cooling is not a problem. The motor only makes more heat when you are running it hard. The motor will run on 93 octane pump gas. It does perform better with a mixture of pump and race gas. I mix 93 & 114 octane and you can tell a difference in the power.

Just got back from the 1st Hatfield/McCoy Trail Fest where there was a guy with a 700 repeatedly going through the short mogul pit they had set up(I realize this is off-subject). This machine soaked up every nasty angled bump he put it through with no visible effect on the rider or machine. Wheelied it effortlessly back to the starting point every time and really put on a show. Engine sounded great and really impressed. No grizzlies were participating to compare the two.

Uflg95,

Any speculation as to why the crank on the HO is $110 cheaper than the regular 500?

kebert,
I hate to sound dishearting, but there is very little you can do to your 335 that will make it perform ALOT better. The 335 engine in the full size Sportsman frame was a huge mistake on Polaris part.Performance wise, there is a HUGE differance between the 335 Sportsman and the 500 Sportsman.I'd bide my time and ride the 335 till you cant stand it no more, than jump up to the bigger CC ATVs.You'll waste ALOT of money trying to beef up the 335.There just is no real REPLACEMENT for DISPLACEMENT!
