CHAIN?

does anyone else have a problem keeping there chain tight on there scrambler i can tighten mine then after riding all day(i jump mine alot) its loose as hell. i have tried everything. will the roller that hpd sells help me out?

On my xplorer i have too keep checking mime too its a pain. mine a 97 poor set up but just make sure the 2 back bolts are tight and go by the spec in the manual...

I had the same problem on my 99 Scrambler. I changed the chain and sprockets and the problem went away. Do you have alot of time on your chain and sprockets? If you do, I would suggest changing them.

tks guys i am going to get the tensioner from hpd plus put new chain and sprockets on it probably go with sidewinder.

i would buy a chain tensioner ,,i put one on mine and my chain hasnt come loose yet ...hope it helps.

From my experience, which may be worth a nickel, sometimes if you tighten the chain too much it will actually stretch when you ride. (especially if it is old and not lubed well). Be sure to give yourself a half inch of play after tightening when you (the rider) is sitting on the quad. My friend has a 98 Trail Blazer, which is before they changed to the egocentric drive system.
