Has anyone ever heard of someone putting a manual transmisison is a scrambler? Does anyone know if this is possible or what it would take to do it. I was just thinking and I thought I would ask this question?

The Expedition tranny has shaft drive for the rear. If you changed this then you would have to change the rear axle also. Why do you want to swap to a manual tranny?

I don't know much about the Xpedition tranny's, but I do know you can put an Xplorer transmission in a Scrambler so that you will have Hi and Lo range. A friend has done this to his Scrambler to run 28's and it is unstoppable in the mud and water, but then again it's bigger than any bike I've ever seen (21" of GC at the floorboards).

I don't belive it will work. Because in the expedtion the tranny and the motor are one peice. In the scrambler the motor and tranny are two seperate peices. Just my guess.

Putting an xplorer tranny into a scrambler sounds like an ingenious idea. Will this work with a 500 scrambler as well I wonder?

The trannys are the same for the 400 and 500. The Explorer tranny will work fine in the Scrambler and allow you to run at least 25inch tires and bigger if you like.

I don't really want to do it I just asked the question just to gain some knowledge and it seemed like a cool idea. It would deffinately be wierd shifting a scrambler.
