According to All-Terrain Vehicles Mag. this is how they rated these quads.

First=4 Second=3 third=2 forth=1 Let the battle begin.

1)Racks-Quest=3 Sp700=4 Griz=1 Kawi=2

2)Ergonomics-Quest=1 Sp700=3 Griz=4 Kawi=2

3)Ground clerance-Quest=1 Sp700=4 Griz=3 Kawi=2

4)Weight wet-Quest=1 Sp700=2 Griz=4 Kawi=3
787lbs 786lbs 640lbs 656lbs

5)Acceleration-Quest=2 Sp700=1 Griz=3 Kawi=4

6)Top speed-Quest=2 Sp700=4 Griz=3 Kawi=1

7)Braking-Quest=4 Sp700=2 Griz=1 Kawi=3

8)Tight woods-Quest=1 Sp700=4 Griz=3 Kawi=2

9)Hill climbing-Quest=2 Sp700=3 Griz=1 Kawi=4

10)Descending-Quest=1 Sp700=2 Griz=4 Kawi=3

11)Fast trails-Quest=1 Sp700=4 Griz=3 Kawi=2

12)Noise,Vibration,Harshness-Quest=1 Sp700=4 Griz=2 Kawi=3

13)Mud&Water-Quest=1 Sp700=4 Griz=3 Kawi=2

14)Utility-Quest=4 Sp700=3 Griz=1 Kawi=2

15)Sport-Quest=1 Sp700=3 Griz=4 Kawi=2

The winner is the Sp700 with 47 points and 7 first place. Second is the Griz at 40 points and 4 first place. Third is the Kawi at 37 points and 2 first place and forth is the Quest at 26 points and 2 first place votes. So according to this Mags. the Sp700 is the best all-around 4x4. Just remember this isn't my thoughts (but I do like the winner) it's the mags and i'm sure there will be some who will disagree with the numbers, but this does show the 700 is for real.

Funny, I posted the same message two days on ATv NAtion .com. I got plenty of responses, from people who hand differences of opinions, makes for some good reading. I can't wait to see what the people at ATV CONNECTION will respond.

I really thought the 650 would outperform the 660.

I wonder what would happen if they switched riders???

I guess not getting any response on this, everyone must agree with the mags.

I think this report is skewed. It's based on the preformance of the Quad. I think it needs to review catagories like: Maintence (Financial & downtime), reliability and customer satisfaction.

By reading the posts on this website, Polaris would fail these items.

Maybe there will be a "long term test" report on these four rides later. Then we could truly find out which one is the best quad.

I think it would be hard to judge on those subjects when none of the quads have been around for more then 7 months. And you want to compare reliabilty, yes there were problems with the sp500, but no more then the Griz 600. As far as the 400 Praire not much has been said about them most likely due to not many sold. Now the new quads that are out, all are going to have bugs being first year models. For what I've read the Griz660 has had the biggest bugs so far, however I bet that is due that there are alot more out there compared to the others being used, so more chances to go wrong. Yes I do think they should have a long term test. one completly stock and another with same 27" tires 589mt and winch to see how the drivetrain can handle the extra stress, because that is the way alot of us set them up. I think all of would be happy to see a test like that.

Im sorry but to me wieght and power is the deciding facter in buying the atv I want. I just think a atv that weighs 145 pounds more and is a single carb twin and also does not have a locker swicht doesnt add up. we see how the shootouts and long term test goes!

You guy's crack me up. For one thing they weighed them the way we ride them, wet, and the 700 was only 130lbs more not 145. Now look at what tires you put on your Kawi, 28" outlaws. Now reading another post on weight of your stock tires your combined weight for tire and rim is 93lbs. (23lbs front and 24lbs rear). Now buy you adding the outlaws your combined weight went up to 180lbs almost doubling it. So this is adding 87lbs to your quad. Now if I was to do the same to the 700, stock weight 142lbs (32lbs fr 39lbs rear) then put on the same outlaws on aluminum of 180lbs I would be adding only 38lbs. So there is a 49lb difference by adding the same tires, thus only making the weight difference now only 81 lbs between the Kawi and Sp700. Now you add a tow hitch, steel skid plates, rack extensions and the extra radiator fluid now your only talking about 60lbs.

Now as far as power, the Kawi beat it in acceloration and hill climbing. The 700 won on tight trails, fast trails, top speed, sport, GC, Ergonimics, and mud and water. So if the Kawi has so much power at 130lbs lighter, it should have won most of the test. So back to the weight, now you adding 87 more pounds to your Kawi or 13% more then the weight of the machine your going to notice the power loss compared to the 700 putting on the same tires of 38lbs or less then 5% of machine weight. So stock for stock yes the 700 is heavy, but how many of us leave them stock. Most people who have the Kawi and Griz change there tires right off because there junk. So if your going to complain about weight and power, lets put on the same tires then see who's on top.
I hope I didn't bore anyone I just don't like it when people complain about weight, then go and put on 28" tires and think there quad is still light compared to the 700 with the same tires.

I honestly didn't read everyone's posts above except for the last point made. Recent observation of my tire change: went to SAME SIZE Goodyear Mudrunners(fairly agressive, about the same as the now standard Rawhides) with run flat(heavier no doubt) and robbed at LEAST 20% from my pre-HO Sportsman. It was no surprise to me; just wanted to share my experience.

Don't believe everything you read, especially from a magazine, the likes of All Terrain Vehicle.
