Hi!

I had the same questions than you about 2 month before:

I am in Austria and have never had an ATV before. I bought a Sportsma 500 in Sept., the Polaris mounting kit and the Moose county plow with some mods.

You cant compare the snow in Europe or Eastern Canada with the powder of Colorado or any western state. We got a lot of wet snow about 2 weeks ago and I tell you that my Sportsman stopped with spinning wheels at about 1 to ft of very wet snow. I am sure you bend the plow when it starts to freeze that wet stuff onto the ground.

Even with me on top (I am a 330 pound monster), the wheels were spinning. If I would have used chains, I am sure the ATV could push another half foot, but thats the end in wet and heavy snow. But thats a lot, and it is already too much if you ask me because you might screw up something. If you compare the size and power of an ATV to a big truck, the truck would need to plow 10 feet of snow to do the same job than the ATV does.

If its powdered and beautiful snow like in Colorado, I am sure there is almost no limit until you get trouble to breath except you use a snorkel. ;-)

But what I will do in future: I wont wait until the snow piles up that high. I go for plowing more often because I assure you: ITS REAL FUN!!!!!For me almost as good like S*x. I often switch the piles from one end the another one. So, finally it takes longer to plow, smile.

Well, plowing has to be done, right! It is a serious job, so dont hesitate and buy one: The only way for adults to play in the snow like a 10 yr old boy. Neighbours are shaking their heads when they watch me , but theres not one of them who didnt ask me yet for a short ride on my ATV.

Hehehe let it snow ...let it snow....

GO FOR IT!!
I love to plow with my quad. I use a 400 two stroke Sportsman to plow. I have upgaded the tires to GBC Dirt Devils, the traction is much better. I plowed many drive ways last year w/o much problems. I know my neighbors think I'm crazy. I would plow out the snow and at the end of every pass to some wild doughnuts. I would pile the snow high, remove the blade and blast over the tops! You can make money doing drive ways, you even can do the sidewalks on the thing. When I moved this year I spent some time driving through the neighborhood to see if I could find people with out snow blowers to plow out for money.
Don't wait, the snow is coming!

Iam 14 years old and have a polaris explorer 400 and i live in ohio and during the winter i plow my neibors drive ways. the snow around here is almost always slush . and in one case the snow was so compact that when i pushed it it made a pile in front of my plow and snow stacked all the way up to my front rack and the tracktion was still there.
