Just bought the Sportsman deluxe plow with 48" blade for my HO. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this setup and can comment on how good it is. I'm kind of wondering if it was worth $450, or if I should return and get my money back (it's still in the box), or get a winch instead.

My driveway is 32x32. What is the best strategy for plowing a driveway? Do you just plow down, then reverse back up, then plow down again? Do you angle the blade? Would I be better off plowing side to side so the snow would stack in my yard? Seems like a lot of shifting from forward to reverse...

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

I have both the Sportsman and the standard frame. I prefer the standard frame because it isnt as heavy or long making it easier to store. Just make sure to take the mount off before you go 4 wheeling in the spring or you will bend the mounting tabs out of shape on the rocks.

I also have both.I like the deluxe better because
when the plows off I still have my ground clearance.
But the only reason I was able to to buy the Duse in
the first place is from 2 years of plowing with the magnum

If you got a place to push it to,push it
if not angle it
You'll have to figure what the best plan of attack will be
for your driveway.
And then you'll have to figure out the plan of attack for your neighbors houses because you'll be wanting to plow
more then 32x32.

Thanks for the feedback. I bought the deluxe because of that: pull 2 pins and the whole assembly drops down, nothing else to disconnect before going riding. I forgot to mention, in addition to the driveway I have 285' of sidewalk, but that seems easy to attack.

One thought on the sportsman frame. The front pivot bracket is vunrulable to damage in the rocks or what ever else you may run into. Mine was bent up beyond repair after this summers riding. One reason I got the sportsman frame is beacause I didn't want to remove the mount in the spring and to me it is just as easy to reinstall the standard mount. I would suggest removing the front mount if you do any 4 wheeling this spring.
