2000 Scrambler 400 Lights???
#1
Need more lights for night riding. Stock light on Scrambler 400 just doesn,t do it. Read in one of the forums that someone was putting on optional light kit from Dennis Kirk.(Moose Halogen Light Kit)120,000 Candlepower. My question is how many watts is that? Stock alternator output is 150 watts. Do not want to change or upgrade alternator to use that(to expensive). Would consider some other lighting kits if that is to much wattage. Any help would be appreciated.

i had the same question, upgradign your stator will cost 75$ + the lights it just aint worht it, for 70 + shipping you can get the daylight kit from highlifter, they are baha lights, so think how much it will light up, you can see stuff 250+ yards away

I don't know what your budget is, but here is what I did: I wanted a better lighting set up for the wife's '96 Sport 400, so I found a used set of Scrambler lights from a '98 and paid 70 bones for the lights, brackets, hardware and switch. I left all of the bulbs at their stock wattage as not to need a stator rewind. On low beam, the Scrambler lows are only on, on Hi beam, the Scram Hi's and the stock hood light is on. I have had no problems with the battery running down on night rides, and the extra lights made a very big difference.
