I was riding my quad yesterday and i start to here it backfire, then it stulls. I finally get it satarted after about 5 min. Then it started smoking. I dont about the smoking part if it was the snow hitting the engine or not? So then i just put it away because i didnt want to do any more damage if there was any done. Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

 

jerrod is this a 325/ 4 cycle or the 250 2/cycle as far as the backfire. is the gas new or old? check the spark plug. is the oil level ok? was the engine warmed up or still cold? where was the smoke coming from? if it was smoke it would linger in the air for a little bit. im guessing it was probley steam (steam would not last as long as smoke, also smoke would smell like smoke steam would not smell


i know this is a lot of ? but more info is needed
