I was wondering the same thing. I wondered if a 2002 Trailblazer with a speed kit (pipe, clutch, jets,K&N) and a TMX 35mm Carb would keep up to a Scrambler 400 or 500???

HPD's REED CONVERSION KIT its not cheap. It cost $1,379.95
for the complete kit. Thats if your TB is bone stock. If you already
have a pipe or clutch kit you would get a price break. I had a
HPD pipe and a Hotseat clutch kit and a 38mm TMX carb. on my 99 TB
before I got the reed conversion kit. Darrell at HPD convinced me
to go with his clutch kit because I could possibly be in a too low
or too high of a RPM range with the Hotseat clutch. The 38mm carb.
is too much carb. for a TB (that originally came recommended by Hotseat)
Anyway, you guys want to beat some stock or even some that have a
pipe and clutch kit installed, scramblers? Hpd's full race mod package
or race mod plus reed conversion kit is the answer. Now before any of
you scrambler guys get all bent out of shape. Topend will save you!
Darrell tells me that it will flat out run a stock scrambler and it
will run or stay with a piped/clutched scrambler up to about 55mph.
Then topend takes over. How far do you have to go to hit topend anyway?
100 yards is a drag race and if I'm out on the trails and I come across
a straightaway longer than that then I feel lucky!
I can tell you personally that mine stays right with my brothers 99
sport and his has Hpd's trailporting, pipe, clutch kit and 38mm carb.
If you have ever rode a piped scrambler thats about what the TB feels
like with the reed kit installed. Hey, its not for eveybody. Some may
want to spend the money on a used scrambler and mod it to beat a DS.
To each his own. Just ride and have fun!

MY QUAD!

I think you oughta just buy my Sport for $2300...you'll have no problem roosting on your buddies Scrammy.
