SP 700 Question
#2
Jeff,
any Polaris 4x4 ATV is locked in the front end when the AWD is activated.Meaning YES,all 4 wheels will spin together, not just three.A slight slipage of the rear wheels will make BOTH the front wheels activate.
Upgrade's would include NO oil in the front hubs anymore.A newer style master cyclinder with steel braded brake lines for better stopping power.A removable radiator sheild for better cleaning. Its also heavier, weighing in at 747 lbs.

<< If its like all the other Polaris 4WD set ups, then it has "true" 4WD when moving forward. However, it only has the rear wheels slowing you when descending a hill! Not a very reliable set up over all. >>
Not true
Use the reverse override

jeffoxsr,
Upgrades also include an in-line shifter.......not the usual lower-case "h" shift pattern, an upgraded speedo that has more options, a new frame, the radiator is a very large design, and a new cooling fan is used (most other 2002 polarii use the same, different fan), and although Polaris doesn't list it as an improvement, they recently started using a different design on the rear brake setup.......this includes a new rear master cylinder, as well as a new rear brake caliper. I've noticed this new setup on magnums as well, and I'm sure that most of the others are sure to follow. The winch mount is in the top of the front bumper, and this is an improvement in 2 ways.......the winch doesn't restrict airflow to the radiator, plus the winch will not be exposed to as much water since it is mounted so high. The exhaust for the belt housing crosses over the top front of the gas tank and the outlet is actually by the rider's right knee, and the belt housing now has a drain in case water is ingested. That's about all I can think of right now. BTW, I ride with 3 guys who have the new prarie 650. They all experienced the choke cable problem, but just got that fixed. Those bikes are truly amazing. How do you like yours?
