I'm about to buy my buddies 4-wheeler, lost his job.

It's a 2001 Sportsman 500 with Winch and very few scratches.

~10 hours and less than 300 miles.

I'm pretty sure he paid 5400 for it in MAY and he's asking 4500

I'd like to hepl him out if this is a good deal Lemme No.

I have a 98 grizzly that I really like but this newer machine is awesome in comparison.

It seems that your buddy got a pretty good deal when he purchsed it for 5400 in may and I think that 4500 for it is an excellent deal. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I always hesitate buying used but you have it good b/c your buddy owned and he would let you know if something was wrong with it, etc. Also if he bought in May it should still have some of the warranty left on it and I believe the warranty can be transferred to you for a small fee. I think $5. You will have to check on it for sure though.

Good Luck

Thats a very good price, but look the quad over REAL good. Its a Polaris and the earlier models have a reputation for poor reliability. It being a 2001,you should not have some of the earlier model problems.I owned a brand new 99 and a brand new 2000,BOTH JUNK!

Best of luck,
Bill

Definitely a great price. Used 01's around here are going for around $5700 with a winch, and that is really low hours/mileage. And you don't have to pay tax. Not much he could have harmed in that amount of time...

Well, I went to pick up the Beast.

And I thought it was a Polaris, but it's actually an 2001 Artic Cat 500ac.

I paid him the 4500, and am really happy with it thus far.

Now my Question is, maybe to late.... was this worth it since it wasn't a Polaris ?

Mud in the face..

Dont be disappointed,AC makes a great ATV to.Actually,a Polaris ATV does not hold its resale value very well.
