How do the new Rawhide Grip tires compare to the Trakker P tires? I thought the Trakker P was a great stock tire.

I just traded my SP500 in for a SP700. The SP700 has the Goodyear tires while my SP500 had the trackers. I live in Colorado so I tested my 700 the last two weekends in snow. The Goodyears slide a lot in the snow. The ride is a little bumpier too. The Trackers are better in my opinion.

No single tire does it all. The Trakker P tire on stock H.O. is a great all-around tire. It is good in mud, and still slides nicely through power turns. The Rawhide Grip tire gives you just what it says, grip with a capital G, great for mud and other places where you need pure traction, but that extra grip also means less slide in the hardpack turns.

The Rawhides look like one the tuffest mud tire I've seen. I can't wait to hear more about them.

As for them sliding in snow, I bet just about any tire will have a hard time holding the SP700 on a snowy downhill. I bet once you get to the bottom, you could turn around and dig trenches back to the top. They are in my little expierences a very digging tire. They find traction somewhere.

Mine came stock and when they wear out, I will get another set because they do everything I want in a tire, plus they look good too...

I should probably add some information to my comment on Traker P's being better than the Goodyear Rawhides. My Sp700 is brand new. The first time I drove it was in the snow and I was sliding badly. Most of the sliding was laterally. The second time out, I got better traction. I only have 60 miles on my SP700. My friend and I looked at the tires and agreed that there is a "glaze" on the new tires that could be making them slide. I think that I need to "scuff" them up a bit before I get some traction. Driving on snow and snow packed roads isn't getting the "glaze" off yet. I hope to be ranting and raving about these tires too ! I may just get out on the asphalt and "scuff" them. I know about this effect from racing cars. I think that this may be the issue.
