Is your 500 hard to start in cold weather?
#1
Today i tried to start my dads 2000 Mag 500 but it wouldnt hit a lick. It turned over fine but would start. I tryed for a while then let it sit for a couple hours thinking that I may have flooded it but it still wouldnt start. The weather around here has been around 25 for the lows and 45 for the highs so it really hasnt been that cold. It hasnt been started for 3 or 4 weeks but still i think it should started today. Guess I'll have to buy a can of starting fluid tomorrow.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks

BTW...My 400 Xplorer fired right up.

I have the same weather here and mine is a little harder to start but hits on the 2nd or third crank.
It sounds like moisture (water) in the fuel. If it has not been started for some time drain the bowl of the carb then try again. My lawnmower does this every year.
TIP: Alawys keep the fuel tank full when not riding and it reduces the chance of moisture in the fuel system.
