Throttle is always frozen now-what should I do?
#1
Now that it is cold all the time now here in Iowa my throttle is frozen and will not move. It must have some water in it. If I put it in the shop for 1 hour at 50 degrees it works just fine. Lubing it only made it worse.
How much work is it to replace the throttle cable and can you keep water out of it?

Just make sure you go get it fixed as soon as possible. Mine did the same thing and it was a hole in the oil injector from the factory. I never noticed it, but it made my throttle freeze up all the time. After awhile it just rusted, and locked up on me. Then I was stranded because of a simple throttle cable. Stupid thing really pissed me off, and I had to pay almost $200 to get it fixed. Polaris didn't kick in a single dollar.
The throttle cable comes all in one piece, and I don't think the part was very expensive. I would have fixed mine myself, but I was hoping warranty would cover it since it was a manufacturer screw up.
