Today I snapped the rear axle on the Xped, at the normal spot on the right at the hub.
So any tips on how to remove the axle? Hint and tricks would be welcome.

Erlandson Performance, Dura Blue, or stock which axle would be the better choice?

It was strange watching my tire pass me up on the trail as I slid (pulling to the right) to a stop. I had been gouging on it earlier, but she was on smooth ground when it let go at 35 mph.
The ole Xped did not leave me stranded, she rolled home 3.2 miles with me (and the RR tire) on the front rack in one wheel drive.

i dont know what to tell you, but from what ive read, durablue's are the most snapped axels at races, i cant see my scrambler axel snapping, its so damn thick! maybe the other one you mentioned? or save money and buy stock, but use HSP hubs instead of polaris?

Bubba,

Do not waste your money on the DuraBlue. I have broken two DuraBlue axles and their so called lifetime warranty is a joke. Ask anybody body out at 90 what they think about DuraBreak. Just replace it with a stock axle. One thing will help the axle last longer is to keep the hubs torqued to 100 ft lbs and check them often.

Does anyone have experience with Erlandson Performance axles for Polaris? Cheaper than DuraBlue, but are they better than stock.

Bubba,

The axle in that picture looks identical to a stock one. I would not be supprised if they are the OEM supplier, since they only make them for Polaris.
