System for rating members???
#11
I am very curios as to why I am a "pro rider" at 200 post while other guys are not at 500 post. Is it possible that the moderators of this site decide when someone will move to the next level anyway? I don't even know of a single moderator on this forum. Who are they?
I do agree that it would be nice to have a better rating system. How that would be accomplished is another story. Everyones suggestions and ideas have very good points. I am glad I only work on mechanical stuff, computer stuff I haven't learned to well, yet.

I agree that at the very least, the status as is stands should be removed. It could be replaced with just the number of posts. Although, that does not mean anything either. I did see a thread where someone replied like 20 times with just emotion faces.
I don't know the rules for the rating. I don't think it is just the number of posts. I thought it had to do with the number of posts per day, but it can't be that either. I looked at someone's profile with over 800 posts and 3 posts per day who was still a trailblazer. In the same thread was someone with around 300 posts and .5 posts per day who is Pro Rider. They both became members within a couple months of each other.
I don't really look at the ratings. I can pretty much tell whose replies are BS and whose are worth something. I know the names of some members that were here when the board sofware was the same as the classifieds. I don't think that sofware stored the join date. My join date is probably when I had to rejoin after the first sofware switch (first that I know of).
