Well PaulC I have never owner a Polaris, but I have gotten factory manauls for Hon,Yam,Suz,and Kaw, just go to the dealer and order one if they make one. Manuals that include more than one quad can get confusing. Does Polaris have a website you can order parts and manuals from?

Hi Chunky,
Well, the dealer says the xplorer is ready but Im not confident it is. He said there was no signs if cylinder scratching or engine problems.

He's not sure what happened. Whats funny is at first he said it could have scared the piston slightly.

Anyway, he didnt even take the head off and check it because he said it would be another 2-3 hours more work. I feel like they owe me that much anyway. I bought the atv from them and always paid top dollar for all the work, parts, and supplies. Everytime I call there the mechanic didnt make it to work that day. Theres only one mechanic. Once this fiasco is over Im finding a new shop! I dont think I should have to pay a dime for this and I dont want the atv back until he is absolutely sure the cylinder wall isnt scratched and if it is... he should fix it free. Im convinced the problem is the cylinder is scratched because they did something wrong when doing this the first time...poor craftsmanship. Do I have a leg to stand on?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul

You asked if you have a leg to stand on, well you have a leg to gripe on. But it sounds like the dealer has poor customer service.

What can be done, I dunno. To me 2-3 more hours is nothing but a little effort. It isn't too hard to pop the head and look. He may not want to find the problem. If he does, then he knows you will want him to fix it.

Without some external pressure (Polaris, lawyer, BBB, local TV station etc...) you may not get the dealer to work with you. Polaris may not want to get invlove if it isn't warranty work, but again they may. They have an interest to provide good service no matter who pays for the service.

Chunky
