I am considering a 96 4x4 Scramblersorta for me but also for my wife. One guy ask "don't you like your wife?" I have a Warrior, which I'll keep, and she doesn't like it as much as she could. I think an auto would appeal to her, the 2-stroke and 4x4 really appeal to me. What do I need to know about this ATV? I'm guessing pretty fast. Compares to what speed wise? Ride good? Assume 4x4 gets around good? What should I pay for mostly stock 96? Thanks for any help.

I have a Scrambler 400 and my wife rides a 250 Xplorer. We trade rides from time to time, and she really likes the Scrambler alot. I let her have her pic of ATV's.. she chose the 250. Automatic was a PRIORITY for her. She can ride a shifter just fine, but she would rather NOT shift. Next time around, probably get her a 400 Explorer, or maybe put a rack on the Scrambler. As far as the 4x4 goes, it's great. Suspension is good, as long as you aren't expecting to MX race. I have had a problem with the lower steering post bushing, but there is an afermarket one available for around $35 which will fix it. Also, there are LOTS of goodies for the 400 out there for performance. I can't stay with a Banshee or a 400EX in a race, but for trail riding, the Scrambler is hard to beat. It can go places those can't. It's also much roomier, and better ground clearance. Not to mention REVERSE. I'm guessing top speed is around 60 mph.

Hope this was of some help!!

How do you like the Xplorer 250. It is a good buy at $4300. I am considering one.

250 Xplorer is great for trail riding. Roomy seat, smooth ride. It's NOT a hotrod, but it gives descent performance. My wife loves it. When the climbs are steep, she just puts it in low range, and up she goes. For the money, hard to beat. However, if you are planning on using it for any type of towing, you might look at a 4 stroke. See ya!

Weedy the Xplorer 250 is a great ATV, mine has been flawless, i ride double allot and it never gives up, and in low range it climbs like a mountain goat. Not going to win any races. But for the price it is a good deal. I have been really happy. Could use taller tires at least for the type of rising i do. Going to go to 24 and 25 i think.

Jay, I think once you start riding that scrambler you may want to get on for yourself! Just my 2 cents.
