This will get some people talking.

(January 16, 2002) - Polaris Industries Inc (NYSE: PII) is proud to announce it has been bestowed the greatest honor possible from ATV press. “ATV of the Year.” The Sportsman 700 Twin was given the honor for its innovation and ability to lead the rest of the ATV industry in a new direction.

“For the sixth year, we’ve again challenged the ATV manufacturers to build a machine that best combines three qualities: Innovation, Industry Influence, Consumer Interest,” wrote ATV Magazine. “Is the new Sportsman 700 Twin that one ATV? Yes.”

“We knew we had a fabulous, innovative new product to bring to the market,” said Bennett Morgan, General Manager, Polaris ATVs. “The ATV of the Year award is truly an honor that reinforces our innovation with the new Sportsman 700 Twin, especially at a time when the ATV market is increasingly competitive. We couldn’t be happier about this award or with our Sportsman 700 Twin.”

The Sportsman 700 Twin’s ATV of the Year award is just the latest victory since it was introduced to industry press in August 2001. It has garnered first-place finishes in competitive model head-to-head comparisons in leading ATV industry publications in both the United States and Canada.

“We expect that with this most recent announcement, the already strong demand for the Sportsman 700 Twin will increase,” Morgan said. “Polaris ATV dealers will be thrilled with this news, and we’ll undoubtedly have more orders for this model. We’re going to have to build more.”

The Sportsman 700 Twin features the world’s first ATV engine that was developed, tested, and manufactured on American soil. The even-firing parallel four-stroke twin is the largest displacement engine ever lowered into an ATV. With a new frame, a new transmission and new calibrations to the already industry-leading Polaris Independent Rear Suspension (IRS), the innovations went beyond the engine technology to create the most powerful, smoothest riding 4x4 ATV available. It also led to the “ATV of the Year” designation.

Geez,

I can't believe it. I just wrote in another thread (Suspension vs. Engine Mods) my speculation the Sportsman was the best total-all-around quad.

Yes, Polaris is VERY INNOVATIVE. I agree with the news I just read above.
