Which tire do yall think is best for the front of a 00 500 Sportsman? Ive got 27-12-12 vampires on the back and front of my quad and Ive shattered 2 cv's in about a weeks time! I not over stressing the quad heck I was barely turning the tires over both times. The 27-12-12 vampires seem to be to big, heavy, and stressful on the cv joints. Im going to keep the 27-12-12 on the back and I want the best mud tire out there for the front. the vamps are awsome but the 27-10-12 arent that hot in the mud cause Ive been there done that on my 00 grizzly. Im thinking of the new 28 vamp or the the goodyear mud runner. Please someone help me Im running out of money! Oh yea are the 28 vamps very stressful on the cv's? I want the best for the mud without breaking anything.
Thanks a million!

I have recently fallen in love with the new mud bugs by maxxis. You can see them on the highlifters web site. They are totted as a light tire but still 6ply. Dont know if that will solve your problem though, as they are a mud/snow tire with deep lugs and may cause you the same problem.
They are a light tire though if that helps. I plan
to buy a set of 4 this spring.

I am currently trying to get my front cv joints replaced on my 00 SP500. I had stock tires on the front and still tore out the joints.I was looking at a friends machine and he really likes his Mud Machine bi-claws on the front. I dont know if they have a real bad cv joint problem, but it seems that they are weak.

You do know, that the Sportsman comes stock with different size front and rear tires. The ratio in front to rear tire size is crucial for the AWD to figure out if the rear tires are spinning and how much to spin the front tires. If you offset this ratio, the quad will start to break parts and will run incorrectly.

The sizes are not different on the 500, just on the Sportsman 335.
