Anyone Tried a Dial A Jet on their carb?

I have been looking at getting a dial a jet for my bike. According to Thunder Products they work excellent with the UFO that I already have installed on my bike. The UFO gives it awsome throttle response in the bottom to mid range and the Dial A jet is supposed to help the mid to upper ranges.I like the idea of not having to remove the carb to change the main jet sizes too. You just turn the small dial and it changes the main jet size. Also supposed to help eliminate any midrange burndowns too.

I put one on my YZ490 along with the UFO. It does work good. Make sure to get the snorkel kit. The snorkel kit is a boot that goes over the DJ with a hose and a filter. The filter sucks though. I put an inline gas filter on in place of the filter that came with it. It is still worth the $10 for the boot though.

Actually I did order a snorkel kit too.I talked to Lonn at Thunder Products yesterday and he re-assured me that it will work very well with the UFO. Did you notice any difference in mid-top end power or response or did you just like the ease of rejetting? If it helps the mid-top end as much as the UFO helped the bottom and mid, I'll be very impressed. The UFO was a real pain to get dialed in but well worth the trouble considering the difference it makes.I push the throttle a lot less to get more.

Noticing whether my 490 has more top end is kind of like noticing if a new nuclear bomb is louder than the last one . Mostly, I was installing the DJ at the same time as the UFO. The jetting ease was my biggest thing I was looking for. I have not got it jetted in right yet though. I keep dropping jet sizes, but it is still too rich. The plug is white though. The DJ vaporizes the fuel so well that you can't use plug readings for jetting. It is so quick to change jetting though that doing seat of the pants testing is easy. I was only dropping the main jet one at a time. I would drop the main and turn the DJ to full rich, then go down one click at a time. The problem is that this would put me richer than where I was at before. Finally, I realized that I need to drop at least two at a time. I want to get it where all I need is the 5 clicks for any riding conditions I am in. It still runs great even though it is rich. It just uses more fuel. I nearly flipped it over in fourth gear one time at Silver Lake when it stood straight up on me. I chopped the throttle, kissed the bars and wished with all my might.

I have had it for sale, but most people are scared of it. One guy took a test drive and rode around the back of my house. I don't know what he did. The bike was not damaged. He pushed it back around to the front and said "That's a lot of bike".
