Pipe for 400 Scrambler

Question for you Glammis guys, do the locals test for DB's on the silencers? It was rumored that Silver Lake was going to start that this year.
Chunky, sure the open lid would work, but as far as wt and protection, you really can't beat the K&N with a waterproof Outerwear. Wish you lived close you could try mine, it does make a difference. Also, not to get on anyone, but there are dyno results showing a 1-2 hp pref. of V-force reeds over Boyson. You won't feel it with a trail setup, but if you dip into a race-mod, every bit helps. Good luck on the dunes, I'm soooo green with envy. I have sand on the brain.

Chunky,
You can run with the filter housing lid off, but it will seriously lean out the A/F mixture and some serious rejetting will be required. Besides, it's very noisy, with the airbox mod, there is very little intake noise. I removed a very large section of the forward interior wall of the airbox, and retained the large rubber boot and aluminum tube. Mine's pretty quiet and the jetting is closer to recomended jetting for the engine combination.
Duneaholic,
Get the violet secondary spring, it'll help on the back shift coming down a bowl and back up the the rim.
