seems to growl alot out of the hole even w a new belt took a ride w cover off and belt seems awfly loose on primary (when from a stop and gas on it). when up to speed let off gas and engine revs up and machine slows down fast w/o brakes just wondering where to start. cleaned up all debris from primary. primary goes in and out freely and everything seems to be in order as far as everything thats supposed to move does and sheaves- maybe secondary? any help appreciated. just another dumb question because i don't know any better.

 

sounds like the secondary spring may have broken.Take it apart and see.

 

ok heres the scoop. the primary has a yellow spring and either 6 or 9 weights (looking at one from the top down-6 :confused[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. the secondary has a red spring and we started with 2-inside,2-mark on helix and past one helix notch. we kept going tighter until we ended up with 3-inside,1-mark on helix,and past 3 helix notches. my brother helped me until he had to go but it got much better, but theres some room for improvement yet.i dont know how far these things have to go but we had all we could handle holding this thing together.is the primary goofed up some because if i gas on it from a stop it will still suck the belt in the secondary.

 

went ot dealer to find out stock setup (if they had a manual-I would buy they did not or know without looking at it) if anyone knows it would help
