i have a scrambler 400 and it is pretty fast, but iv always heard people saying that a 400ex and a 250r and a warrior are fast, iv never raced any of those, so i was wondering if anybody had any experience with this situation? would a scrambler beat an ex, r or a warrior in a drag race?

My Scrambler will waste my friends Warrior. I have been spanked badly by a 400EX though (as I knew I would )

All three of those ATVs have top speeds around 60 mph. I believe the Scrambler tops out at about 58, the Warrior tops out at around 59, and the EX tops out at about 62 or so. In reality, you might as well figure that they all go 60. The key isn't really the top speed anyway, it's how fast the machines accelerate to that top speed.

The 400EX will hit 50 mph. (0-50) in: 7.72 seconds
The Polaris Scrambler 500 (2x4) will hit 50 mph. (0-50) in: 9.37 seconds

Now, if you've ever been to a drag race, just looking at those numbers would tell you that the Scrambler would have lost by about three ATV lengths to the 400EX. I don't have the data on the Warrior, but I'm guessing the Warrior would have been about one or two lengths behind the Polaris. Since you're not drag racing all the time on the trail, who the hell cares anyway. The Scrambler would take the Honda to the cleaners if you ever put the two of them in some deep mud. *(A bit more practical of an advantage if you ask me). But if it's speed you like, it's the acceleration that's the fun part of ATV riding. It's a machine's ability to accelerate that makes you feel like you're flying by the seat of your pants, and makes a machine feel powerful. That goes for just about any vehicle with a motor in it. Basically, it's not the top speed that makes so much of a difference, but how fast you can get to that top speed.

ENJOY!

(I got the figures on acceleration/top speed from: http://www.wvoffroad.com/linkframe.a...t.cfm?id=33571)

I have a 99 Scrambler 400 4x4 the only mod I have is a K&N filter I ride with a group of guys that have a stock 300EX stock 400EX modified banshes DS 650 and warriors. Flat surface race I can beat the 300EX the Warrior and I am so close to the 400EX that sometimes he wins and sometimes I win depending on who gets the jump off the line.
When the trails are uphill I can smoke the 400EX and at the sand dunes if I have paddles on I can climb the hills that the Banshe and the DS 650 can climb where the 300EX, 400EX and the warrior can't go with paddle tires but I think that is because of the 4 wheel drive.

If you have the 2x4 you will beat any of the quads you listed. Spend about 300 bucks and you will smoke any of the quads listed. The 250r can be easily be modded also to smoke you. Its just a matter of who wants to spend the most money. But stock vs stock, you will take any of them in a drag.
