Xplorer400 wont start when cold outside
#1
We have a stock 400 Xplorer 1995 with 3100 miles on it. Hardly ever had a wrench on it. Does anyone know why it will not start when its cold outside at night when the temps are like 25-35F? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the choke working? What exactly does it do when you try to start it? On my xplorer I just give it full choke and then it starts right up every time. You could have it jetted wrong. Sometimes you have to change your jets when it gets really cold outside. We need a little more info on what it does when your crank it over.

Hi Meangreen,
It cranks over fine and it will hit one time like its going to start but wont. The choke is fine. I usually just hit my choke one time and it starts. I think it may need to be rejetted for cold weather but its only cold in the winter and usually does get below 35-40 here in easter NC.
