Do u guys know if they make a high comp.for my 400? If so who makes it,and how much?
I have my motor out right now to put new rings or a new piston in.And there seams to be some slack in the crankshaft,is it that hard to chang out the bearing?I plan to enstall new a pipe, jet kit, clutch kit,K&Nfilter, reeds, shock and struts, shorter handle bars, stering bushing, waterpump seals, start kit,and battery. While I have my motor out any ideas ya'll can come up with to keep her dependable and improve proformance would help.
Thanks

I believe you need to have head work done to raise the pressures. A piston alone, won't do it. Call Rick Ritter, he can help you out.

I have never heard fo a high compression 2-Stroke piston, that inof itself will raise compression. Their are pistons available that are designed to work better in high compression 2-Stroke motors, IE Wiseco Forged, which is what I believe Kukerdan may in fact have.

Raising a motors compression is the easiest/cheapest route to HP. With the motor off I suggest you have the head shaved slightly (.020) by a reputable shop such as RCR or HPD.

Combine the head work with the mods you intend to get and it should wake the 400 up a bit. Also, spend the extra $ and get a new piston and have the jug honed or bored if neeeded! OE 400 pistons do not work well after a re-ring. It would be a shame to over look that adn ahve to tear ti all apart again in a month.

Aaen is a good route also, go with a Wiseco piston and get the head shaved for higher compression. The factory piston will not hold up to mods for long.

Default 400L piston ? NEED HELP

How much can you shave the head and still use 93 octane fuel? My head is currently planed 0.010" and i was wondering if i could go more, still use 93 oc. fuel and see a difference? Also, i finally got my front sway bar done and mounted - made a big difference when running TT's. thanks
