I'm not too impressed with mine yet either. #498 off the assembley line. 376 miles on it. It's ready to be picked up at the dealer now. I took it in for the leaking water pump. The dealer say's they pressure tested the system and could find no leaks but the factory told them to add sealant around the O-ring because they have had problems with them leaking. Where are the fuel fittings located that were leaking? Have often wondered why I can fill the gas tank, let it set for a couple days and the fuel level in the tank will be down. That might also explain why the fuel mileage is so bad. It also doesn't run as good as it did. Running against my son's 02 500H.O, he can just about stay beside me. I'm also not very impressed with the brakes or the run a round on the bumpers. Other than that no other problems that I know of YET. It's sure as hell not worth 7200.00 that I paid for it. If I could sell it without losing my shorts, I would and buy the 500HO. If anyone out their has changed oil, let me know where the oil level was on the dipstick. When I changed mine and added the 2 quarts, the oil level was about a quarter inch above the full mark. Yes I changed the filter too. Only took me 2 months to get the filter.

I just put my order in for a New Spruce Green 700 Sportsman. Has anyone seen this color yet, if so what do you think?

With the factory recommended 2 quarts in the crank, my dipstick shows slightly overfull as well. My dealer told me about this the day I picked it up brand-new. He said to put about 1 3/4 qts in. I have been using the full 2 quarts. I tend to believe that the dipstick reads incorrectly rather than the factory manual is wrong. As for the filer, yes, the stock Polaris one is hard to come by. Both NAPA and FRAM make filters that fit this quad, plus a lot cheaper than the Polaris one (about 1/2 the price). I am at work and don't have the stock numbers handy but if you search this forum you will find the information. I believe that one person konws someone that works for NAPA and the specs on the NAPA filter are identical to the Polaris filter. The NAPA filter is actually made by WIX. I don't know about the specs for the FRAM.

Update on the problem I was having after driving through the snow drifts yesterday. Changed the spark plugs and replaced the soaking wet air filter. Runs fine now.

Flight was right on about the fuel fittings leaking. Mine was at the dealership getting the water pump leak fixed. Picked it up at the dealer and brought it home, read flights private message relating to where the fuel fittings were leaking, went outside and looked at the fittings and bingo. LEAKING!! Another 80 minute round trip to the dealership. If I can get this fixed, the fuel mileage is bound to improve. Only 27 days left on the warrenty. Dealer still doesn't know when bumpers will be available. Still waiting for the flames and sparks to start exiting the exhaust pipe.
