I would stick with the 400 polaris because the polaris is faster and is better to trail ride with

Oh, he will cry when he rides that gutless, heavy Kawi the first time. Tell him to spend some of the money he would need to do the trade-in on some maintenance and some mods for the Scram.

Now I feel that is one hell of a step down in quads. If all he wants is a die hard WORK machine then maybe, just maybe, that Kawi would be better off for him. If wants something fun to ride, stick with the Polaris.

Uh, pretty simple answer. Keep the Scrambler 400. The Kawasaki Bayou is better than walking, but not by much. Elroy is right, that's a MAJOR step down in quads. Kind of like going from a Porche 959 to a Ford Pinto.

The prarie is a good quad, my neighbor has one, but compared to a 400 Polaris, it is BO-RING.
Probably better for utility use, though, than a Scrambler. If he wants a more utility oriented machine, may I suggest the Xplorer 400.

Keep the Polaris and spend some cash on it if it needs it, the Bayou is a tough quad, but not exciting and it looks like it's going to pop out a baby Bayou anytime. Don't know anything about the Polaris, but the excitement level has to higher.
