Looking for some opinions. The front rims have a couple of dings. It's not enough to make them lose air or anything. Should I be concerned, or is there anything I should do to fix them? Or, should I get new rims? Any suggestions as to what kind?

Thanks

Ride on them until they won't hold air.......My dealer hit me for $80.00 for a replacement for the left front....Check out some of the different sites for aftermarket wheels if you want to replace them...

Don't wait till you're out on the trail and have a flat! Get some aluminum rims now, so you can keep the stockers for emergencies. This will give your bike less down time an possably same some money. Order rims from rockmountain. (theyre the cheapest)

Have to agree with Tyson, just make sure you get the .190 thick rims.

400x,

More important than the aluminum rims, are a good set of tires. Don't bother with the standard two ply junk, you'll just dent the new aluminum rims you just got. Get a set of Holeshot XCT tires. The fronts are four ply and the rears are six ply. These tires will allow you to pound through rocky sections like they weren't even there with no worries about the rims.

Well, after reading everyone elses posting I have to agree with them, however, I was looking at it from a "cost" point of view. I also agree about the heavier ply tires...tires can make a really big difference. If money is no Object..go for it

After my three consecutive flats, all hours away from vehicle, I decided I needed new rims, but my tires had over 70% life left. I figured what are rims without great tires. I decided to get tubes put in tires. At a cost of $96($14tube/$10install),it is another option. New tires and rims will cost around $500, only you can decide what to do. One thing is certain the POS rims and tires must be replaced! GOOD LUCK
