Does anyone have a contact at Polaris that might know some details about the new Hi-Performance ATV that they are developing? Is it going to be a 2-Stroke or 4-Stroke, Engine displacement, etc.
This is an exciting time for all ATVer's (I mean with all the new machines being developed).

Thanks,
John

There has been talk in past threads that there might be a twin 500 2 stroke ( which is a hot snowmobile motor ) but most hard core Polaris fans seriously doubt it. I believe it could be a 2 stroke since 2 strokes are targeted for extinction with in the next couple of years or so.
Perhaps it will be a redesigned Scrambler 500 2x4 with a serious frame diet. With the Bombardier DS 650 out there for $7000 there is shoes to be filled. Who knows....I'm Keeping my fingers crossed.

Chris, I agree with you that it will probably be a 4-stroke, but what do you think about the transmission? PVT or manual shift/manual clutch or manaul shift/auto clutch?

Thanks,
John

If they make an expedition 500cc, I might turn into a benidict arnold and sell out right or trade
in my expedition 425 cc for one of those.

rangerchet polaris expedition 425 cc 5 speed.
ps:
I could see it happening to. they experimented by making the 425, then the 325. Why not go for broke!?!

I would lay money on it that it's gonna be a manual clutch, manual shift quad. But it will probably be overweight and have front struts anyway.

According to the April issue of Dirtwheels Polaris is developing a "real high performance quad to match or surpass rival Bombardier's DS650". In my opinion Polaris will have to ditch the struts and PVT to match or surpass the DS650. A 500cc 2-stroke twin would be to good to be true. I don't know but, I am thinking a 500cc-600cc single cylinder 4-stroke.

I hope this is not one of Dirtwheels April Fools jokes, like that guy doing backflips on a 250R.
