I'M IN THE MARKET FOR A QUAD WITH THE FOLLOWING FEATURES: 5-SPEED; 4WD; LIQUID COOLED
THE XPEDITION 425 MEETS ALL OF THESE SPECS.
I'D APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE OWNERS OF A XPEDITION 425 COULD GIVE ME THUS FAR RE:
1. RELABILITY (ESPECIALLY 5-SPEED WHICH IS A NEW ANIMAL FOR POLARIS THIS YEAR)
2. BEST LIKES
3. WORST LIKES
4. ENGINEERING CHANGES (IF THOSE GUYS AT POLARIS WOULD TAKE YOUR ADVICE)
5. PROS / CONS OF COMPETITION (APPEARS ONLY SUZUKI 500F MEETS MY CRITERIA)
6. BEST $$ I'M WORKING A DEAL CURRENTLY AT $5540 (INCLUDING WARN WINCH AND INSTALLATION), LESS TAX / TITLE
THANKS FOR RESPONSE

The Suzuki 500 4x4 and the Arctic Cat 500 also meet your standards. The Expedition shifts alittle easyer than these 2 but the 2 500 have a good bit more power, BETTER CHOOSEN RATIOS, 2 speed sub-transmission(High/low ranges), semi-independend rear suspension, more torque, steal racks and bumpers, and more suspension travel(Arctic Cat only).

Paul,

1. On reliability... 425cc a Polaris oldie but a goodie... 5 speed tranny No problems so far (heavy work and aggressive trail riding)

2. Best Likes... The ride, Shaft drive front and rear, power on the low end, easy shifting, and on and on...

3. Dislikes... No power outlet

4. Engineering changes... Shift to reverse from any forward gear...

5. Competition... Suzuki 500 very good working quad, not as much ground clearance and not as peppy for trail riding and I like the polaris styling better. I have a freind with a Suzuki 500 he uses it for working and hunting.

6. $$ ... that is a good price and you picked a great time to buy with the new winch promotion. I paid $5395, but I grew up with the dealer and I paid cash.
