Polaris Introduces Limited Edition ATV Models

(March 18, 2002) - Polaris Industries Inc (NYSE: PII) has introduced five new, limited edition ATV models now available at Polaris dealers.

The ATV industry has not been the same since the release of the Sportsman 700 Twin. The Sportsman 700 Twin has been winning magazine comparison tests and won the coveted “ATV of the Year” title from ATV Magazine. For the customer looking for the most powerful, smoothest riding 4x4 available the Sportsman 700 Twin is the only choice. That choice is even better with two new, limited colors — yellow and spruce-metallic. The yellow and spruce-metallic Sportsman 700 Twin models have all the industry-leading features of the original, award-winning Sportsman 700 Twin. The features contributing to the award include chrome steel wheels with Goodyear® Rawhide Grip™ tires, composite racks with steel rack extenders, Polaris Independent Rear Suspension with 9.5 inches of travel and 11 inches of ground clearance, the On-Demand True 4-Wheel Drive, and the Polaris Variable Transmission (PVT) with Engine Braking System (EBS). The Sportsman 700 Twin in the new colors has the same suggested retail price of $7,399.

The new Xpedition 425 4x4 in Mossy Oak® Break-UpTM camo is a model that meets the requests of many outdoor enthusiasts. The Break-UpTM camo pattern, with a special backing material, is applied to the chemically activated body panels and permanently bonds to every curve and contour of the fenders and side panels. The Xpedition 425 4x4 Mossy Oak® also arrives with 25-inch, 3-star Goodyear® Rawhide GripTM tires. The unit shares all the other features of the Xpedition 425 4x4 meaning the same ride and performance are consistently first-rate thanks to the simple, tough, and durable Polaris Shaft Ride System (SRS) with the On-Demand True 4x4. The Xpedition 425 Mossy Oak® edition has a suggested retail price of $6,299.

For customers seeking a midsized sport/utility ATV, Polaris is offering a limited edition Trail Boss 325 in yellow. The economical, yet full-featured Polaris Trail Boss has the award-winning, automatic Polaris Variable Transmission (PVT) and MacPherson strut front suspension. The model is now available and has a suggested retail price of $3,699.

The limited edition Polaris Trail Blazer 250 Sonic Blue is now available with the same features that make the standard Polaris Trail Blazer popular for entry-level sport riders. The special, sonic-blue plastics are accented with a yellow seat, yellow suspension components and yellow graphics. The Trail Blazer 250 Sonic Blue has a suggested retail price of $3,399.

The Scrambler 90X sonic blue was a huge hit with young riders the past holiday season. Because of high demand, Polaris is pleased to offer another hot, new 90X model to the youth segment of its ATV business. The bodywork — in yellow plastic — and the red graphics give it the hot look that made the previous 90X wildly popular. The Scrambler 90X also features red suspension components, and a two-tone red and black sewn seat. Safety features on the Scrambler 90X include a high-visibility whip flag, an adjustable throttle limiter, a safety tether with a shutoff switch. When purchased, the Scrambler 90X and other youth models also come with safety training and a DOT-approved helmet, a more than $200 combined value for no additional charge. The Scrambler 90X has a suggested retail price of $2,249.
