I was just wondering how long you guys have gone on a the battery that the quad came with from the factory. Mine just went out on me and it's about 2 and a half years old, that doesn't sound bad to me.
Just curious what you guys are getting out of em.

never letting them go dead will make them last longer. i remove the batteries from both my quads in the winter and keep them in the garage and charge them once a month and my wifes 97 trail blazer still has its orignal battery. i replaced my 96 xplorer battery last year.

No doubt about it. Trickle charging them monthly will also help out tremendously. Battery tenders are great for this. Attach them and forget about it for weeks at a time. When I say Battery Tenders I am referring to the real thing (trademark) or the Yueasa brand tenders either one of these brands are unbeatable. Even better than the Polaris factory battery tenders.

One more thing... When you first take your quad home, the best thing that you can do for the battery is bring it up to a full charge before operating it. This will have a very positive effect on the life of the battery.

I wish my dealer had told me what effect the cold weather would have on the batteries on my Sportsman 400 and my Magnum 350. The 400 is being repaired so the battery is warm but the Magnum now has a dead battery because of the cold weather.
Neather of my quads are left out in the eliments and are parked in a garage out of the wind and snow. Looks like I'll have to sink some bucks into new batteries or the trickle charger, anouther accessory my dealer should have told me about.

Make sure you keep the water level up also, I've had brand new batteries that have needed water before.
