in my ATV sport, they have spy fotos of a 500cc polaris sport quad! liquid cooled. it smoked a lightly modified 400ex. oh yeah and NO floorboards!!! it's a manuel clutch and has 5-speeds

It's just a picture of a back/side view. They even held up a twig in front of the camera, to make it look like they were hiding in the woods when they snapped the photo.


You can't see much from the pic. It has some generic Mier plastic on it.

 

It is real!! i think it is at least. polaris said they were coming out with a sport quad.

With the manual tranny we can now see that the 500 HO has the highest HP of any sport quad out there at around 40 HP. Put this in a light frame with a direct drive so dyno numbers show up right, and it will be a very respectable setup IMO.


It's possible I might give my Scrammy to the wife and trade in the 325 on the new sport quad. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

any guesses for when polaris will go public with this???

 

I have heard it will be available 2003, so we should see some better pictures in a couple of months and possibly be able to buy one anround October or November. But that is if they don't have any delays as they ramp up for production.

 

BarelyLegal, that's still not gonna cut it as far as stepping up against the DS's (at 52 HP out of the box) although with a freakin miricle it might be an alternative to the craptor, but that's still a stretch. All the companies have a long way to go to just catch up with Bomb and Cannon(both with strong rides for their chassis size.)
