Steering bushing loose - which one?
#11
yeah I have the newer ones---the second ones you describe....
However, here's the thing. When I approach the ATV and hold the steering column steady, there is no play when I grab the tie rod. In other words, wouldn't the tie rod move a little?
It's driving me nuts actually. I understand that lower rubber washer might not be worth much (vs. replacing it with a steel one) but at least I'm going to try it.

You may have also developed some play in the upper steering bushing. It is plastic also. These are not as prone to premature wear as the bottom one, but they are also made of plastic and will wear and cause some sloppyness in the steering. The remaining play is the tie rod ends wearing out. There is a lot of stress on the tie rod ends and they eventually wear out and cause some play in the steering. Replacing them is the only way to correct this.
