Chances are he will loose his a$$ on it.
My buddy just had the same exact thing happen.
2001 trailblazer
His wife got pregnent.
It was all he could do to get $2500.00 for it.
The Guy that picked it up showed him an SALES AD from a local dealer that had ADVERTISED price of $2695.00 on a 2002.
FOR REAL, THEY CALLED It was plus the normal ADDITIONAL fees of course ($3000.00 out the door).
So the guy did save $500.00 buying his 2001.
Just keep in mind once it is taken off the show room floor, IT IS USED.
I know my buddy paid $3400 for it and it was only riden 2 times.

try for $2500 but dont hold your breath.most people will say why not get a new one with warranty for $500 more. i'm glad mine is paid off.there great bikes but they are the dodge neon of polaris and a used 2002 neon losses 20 to 25% when it leaves the showroom.

I just paid $2000 for a 2000 Trailblazer (550 miles, VGC). It came with factory speedo, gas gauge, rock guard, rear rack and polaris rear bag. Buddy also through in a used superwinch 1500 for my Honda !!!!!
look around but $2500 is probably fair (under 100 miles) but you can always offer less !!!
