MY '96 TRAILBOSS PINGS AFTER BEING RIDDEN ABOUT A HALF HOUR.I THOUGHT IT WAS POOR FUEL,BUT NOW I'M NOT SURE.EVERYTHING IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR A UNI AIR FILTER.I THOUGHT ABOUT A HOTTER PLUG,BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO CHANGE ANYTHING SINCE IT RAN GREAT BEFORE.MAYBE CARBON BUILD-UP?
ANY IDEAS?

 

One of the most overlooked things to do after adding an aftermarket air filter is to change the jetting!Do a wide open test.Then take the plug out.I have a manual that tells me what the different colors of he plug means.If it looks normal the it isn't the jetting.If it is fouled out rejet the carb.Go to a dealer (not a pure stoker one) and buy the jets and let him explain to you how to do this.Also when this is done you might want to have the valves adjusted.
