I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE TELL ME THAT THE 250 2-STROKE MOTOR POLARIS USES IS NOT RELIABLE.I HAVE A 1996 TRAILBOSS AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS EXCEPT FOR AN OCCASIONAL PING. I ATTRIBUTE THAT TO POOR FUEL QUALITY AND MOST OF MY RECENT RIDING HAS BEEN SLOW SPEED TRAILING. ANY COMMENTS?

I've had my 250 Trailblazer for over a year now and not had a single problem with it. I under stand that the 250's do produce alot of engine noise. I use 92 octane gas in mine and it seems to help.

RIDE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an 87 250 trail boss with one ring job under its belt and has been a very good bike.

As lont as you keep an eye on the airbox for leaks (replaced two boxes because of cracks), keep the air filter clean, use a high quality oil and change the oil filter coming from the tank you will be happy.

One thing I will mention is that you may reduce the pinging by adding a cooling fan if your bike does not have one.

A cooling fan is highly reccommended for the 250.
Notice that all 300s come with fans stock and its basically the same engine.
