I just bought my first new machine three weeks ago. Love it. Got lucky, when I went to the dealer to pick up a black and silver model, they were just uncrating a spruce one that they didn't know was coming in. I really like the color.

Today I modified the lights with the diode method. I am thinking I would like to add a K&N filter and NGK plugs, maybe even a different clutch spring. Do these changes effect the warranty? I am going to buy the extended warranty next month.

I don't believe the diode thing, the plugs, or the k&n filter will affect the warranty. Changing the springs in the clutch might though. Give your dealer a call and ask him?
