Which mount for Ramsey 2500 for Sp700
#1
Just noticed that atvnorth.com has the 2500# Ramsey winch with remote relay, hard wire switch and roller fairlead for
$380 (also free shipping until May 15). I have a Sp700 and do not like the ramsey mounting plate makes the winch stick out so far. Will the warn mount work with the ramsey. Also if anybody has the ramsey, how do they like it. Is it fairly simple to wire up seing that it has a remote switch? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can use the warn mount plate for the ramsey as I did. The ramsey bolts right up to it. You can put the solinod and remote box under the hood behind the radiator. In fact, there are two holes drilled in the frame support behind the radiater that fit the solinod exactly. Ya only need a couple of self tapping screws to mount it. Right behind that, I mounted the remote for the antenna. I used tie straps to secure it and mounted the ground wire right on the fire wall. Theres a torx screw with a couple of ground wires on it you can just loosen, and slip the remote ground wire into. You can run the coax for the antenna strip inside the pod and stick the antenna there. I also ran my back up toggle switch up inside the pod and mounted it right below the speedo. It finished up to be a nice clean instalation. Only hard part is installing the mount plate. They don't leave ya a hell of a lot of room for your fingers when putting in the mounting bolts. And when ya got fingers like mine (the size of polish) its a bitch.
Hpoe this helps.. NITRO
As far as performance, I've owned both ramsey and warn, and in my opinion, there just as equal!
