Be advised, the DNR will not let you in unless you are 99 db or lower. Measured 20" from exhaust tip at 45 degree angle @ 50% manufacturer's RPM. 400 Sport/ Scrambler =2850 rpm.....looks like a really nice place from the outside, mines 100db sniff, sniff.

Put a bunch of sos pads on mechanics wire and stuff them in the muffler. Once you do the test you can remove them on the trail!!! I used to do that all the time when I raced enduro!!

Thanks for the "crude but effective" idea Chubby. I should've tried that!!! Like I told someone from a certain factory this last weekend, the internet is a powerful tool. It can tie many like minded people together in an instant....POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

Shaggy,

You would have failed, lots of people failed. I was there for the V.I.P. ride and the main trail events.

ATV pull 500cc stock class Polaris 1,2,& 3 with my new 500 HO getting first place. Thor got 3rd place. So once again the HO Train kicked A$$!

BTW the new Hot Seat 700 twin pipe failed. They blew a 101db.

Got all kinds of new model info from Polaris

Hey Shaggy, did the poster you saw say testing would be available, or testing would be mandatory. I only saw that it would be available, was kinda torqued at ATVAM, but when you see all that it takes to organize the event, I got over it. The DNR guys were cool enough to let me go in and park at the Polaris trailer. Blipped the throttle a couple of times going by the Bomber trailer....the guy just couldn't figure out what this loud black thing was. Gonna try an add on spark arrestor, and see if that cuts things down 1 or 2 db.

Hey all you Minnesota riders, is there any type of get together or scheduled rides that a fellow Minnesotan can participate in and get to know some of my fellow riders?

Thanks in advance,

Mod

It read like they would be enforcing a db limit. I saw this poster on 5/3, and it was one short line in small bold letters. Was the first I had heard/seen that there would be testing and I figured it would cause problems for some. I brought it up at atvnation but it was a little to late to help. Thanks for the info Shaggy. I still had a good time, but I really wanted to find the Dirt Wheels gang.

Mark, there's the fall convention for ATVAM. It's gonna be HQ'd at McQuoid's in Isle (south side of Milacs). You can hit the Red Top trails. Fun area with some slow technical, and fast blasting areas.
