Battery Removal

Smokin', You can either use a White Bros battery eliminator kit (jumbo capacitor) or the X-Static thin film battery. I think HPD even sells these now...(my idea, puff, puff)been using one for a couple of years without a burp.

HPD now sells the thin film battery in the "Hot Off The Press" new catalog. I think White Bros. sells the eliminator directly. Rocky Mtn, or some other places probably stock it as well. As for wts. I think the stocker battery has to be over 5 lbs. I had originally tried two smaller 6 volt batteries in series, but things just didn't hold. The thin film is quick to recharge, and only weighs 2.5lbs. I run it up front secured below where the oil injection resevoir comes stock. You have to use a hobby store charger (800-1000mah)but that's the only caution.

So Modquad, it doesn't change off the quads internal charing system? I don't even know what that is. Stator or something?
They said they want $150 for theirs. It's probably like a $40 battery if they just solder some stuff together from the hobby store. I have a ton of planes and batteries out in the garage. I bet I can throw a combo together and offer it to you guys for a LOT less than $150.
They said theirs puts out 300A. Hmmm. 12V, 300A and about 2.5 lbs. I'll be back tomorrow with an answer.
