HPD airbox mod turned out to not be that hard to do
#1
I have worked on a lot of things, but not carbs. I'm learning now. Just worked my way through the HPD airbox mod. It's not nearly as bad as it looks. The plastic comes right off these machine. The tank comes right off and you're in there. It took me an hour to do the carb part, and 5 minutes to mod the lid. I just cut a hole in mine the same dimensions as the aluminum scoop they give you, without going through all of that stupid cutting and riveting. Pointless if you ask me. That snorkle is no ram air setup so it's outta here.
I did fire it up on the trailer and this thing is way snappier off idle. I noticed right away how much faster it reved. I think it's going to run nice. I'll find out tomorrow and follow up in here.
MR1 fuel will be the next test as promised.
