I just bought this quad and it sounds like it the motor is lazy,it does pretty good for a couple of seconds and then just plains out. Its like the motor will not rev up all the way. Once you just floor it from half throttle its like it just wont rev up and pull any top speed at all. Its just like a constant bog or governed control. Ive rode others that would launch and run at least 45 or 50 but this one will not hardly spin the tires. It also seems like when you hit it from a dead stance there is a hesitation and slip that you feel, then it goes. I havent changed the spark plug yet or tried any tune up or looked at the belt. Any ideas? Compression is good because it cranks immediately when cold or hot and when you pull the hand cord it has good resistance.

First two things I would check is the air flow and fuel flow. Then, the belt.

Definately check the simple stuff first. Then check your compression. You say you just bought it....did it run good on the test drive? Is the elevation where you ride significantly higher than where you bought the quad?

Hello everyone. I ran across this exact problem only a week ago. It ended up being a bad rear motor mount. Keeping proper belt deflection is a huge must on these machines. Thought this might help. Also a broken primary or secondary spring will cause this symptom. Cheers! Bubba

Check the carberater...sorry about the spelling....Mine was doing the same thing..bogging after the 1st 20% of the power band, where the throdle cable goes into the Carb. was lose and fallen apart, put it back in place and it runs better than new...check this out...and a new plug,a new gas filter, air filter. Also make sure the gas shut-off swtich is in the rite place, and is not partly in the off position...let us know how u make out.....
