Ok, here's the deal, 99 Sportsman 500. Been sitting for a couple of weeks, grab the brake handle, goes to the bars with no effort. Fluid is below the minimum line. Fill it up, open the rear bleeders, inner one pumps fluid, outer, there's nothing, no presser at all. I can't see a leak or anything at all. I'm looking at it for a friend who is stationed in Korea. While he's gone, I've been looking after his family. He can't afford to have it go to the shop. If I can't figure it out, it'll have to sit. His kids will be heart broken. I'll take any ideas at all, thanks for your help.

 

The other bleeder should have a seperate resevour located on the frame. This is for your foot brake. At least thats how it is on the Scambler

 

Did you bleed the front calipers as well? As Kickerz said, the rear caliper has 2 bleeders, one is for the handle bar brake lever and the other foot brake. Bleed the back first and then the front.

If there are no leaks, the problem is as you suspect, air in the lines. After bleeding the system and you still don't have any brakes, I think you should look at the master cylinder on the handle bar for problems.
