just put the new hpd pipe on today and jetted the carb then went for a ride and i was very disapointed . it doesnt run any better than it did before. i think it was a waste of money!-

 

OOPS, I posted before I read your sig. I HPD'd my 97 scrammy 400 and it really woke it up. But this is a little different. I think that's supposed to give you a 6hp gain. You should feel that. Have you changed your air filter and opened up your air box? Darell

 

Have you checked your jetting i have one and i thought i made a big difference mine spins the tires very hard(a lot harder than stock) and it has razors and a 2 inch extened swingarm. I think there most be something wrong just maybe check your jetting one more time.(If you have already checked that im sorry for being no help.

As much as I hate to say this, there is only one thing you can do to get the 500 motors up to speed. That is the FST 600-628 kit. Elroy and I talked about this the last time I was up your way. The pipe is a step in the right direction, but it isn't enough.

By the way, what ever happened to elroy?

Hey, I'm still around. I finally bought a new computer but for some reason it will not let me log on from home. I even tried setting up a new member but I never got my return e-mail with my password. I don't understand whats going on. I can get on from my computer here at work but not at home. Any ideas? Who are the the adminstrator's here? Maybe they could help me.

As for my quad, I've done even more mods. I know have Works front struts for the newer Scramblers. They have more travel. This meant thou, that I had to cut and move my upper strut mounts so that my camber was right. The reason for this is because I ran a MX race and took third place. I would have done better if I would have had the works struts. My next race is in a few more weeks. I also had to redo my engine thanks to a blown exhaust gasket.

I've also had alot of family stuff going on which has also kept me real busy.

Hopefully someone can tell me why I can't logon from home. I don't get any time to get on here from work.

How's everything down your way?

 

Does anybody know about how much the FST 600-628 kit would cost to install with parts/labor? Or about how much it would decrease engine life? Thanks!
