Is there a need for a Ice chest rack?
#2
I have never had a problem holding down my ice chest. I just strap a few bungee cords around and it seems to hold on great. The problem I have found is the size. I have lights mounted up on my handle bars and the ice chest are too tall. The soft sided ones are too flimsy and don't hold the ice for more than a few hours. They also don't hold up being tied down either. I have seen one that is like an atv bag but it is supposed to be ice ready and hold ice for 20 hours. The problem is they want $70 for it. I thought it was a little pricy for me. So I am still looking for the perfect colmen hard ice chest that will hold ice for a long time and still fit below my lights.

If you got racks, that always was good enough for me. Get the toughest cooler you can, and I recommend ratchet straps over bungee cords, as you can tighten them more, and they are stronger. I strap down the handles, and bungee cord over the lid. To get into it, you just undo the bungee cords.
